This project began with the client’s desire to renovate the property in order to bring it up to par with the landscape . New construction included a workshop, guest house and pool house, all nestled in the landscape with a terrace below and orchard above. The main house was reworked in a refined Northern Italian style, eliminating the original’s inconsistent use of styles. Additionally, the new structures took on vernacular features appropriate to the hillside setting. Materials include integral-color plaster, terra cotta roof tiles, dry-stack stone, bronze and mahogany.
